Borderline on spamming?
I just want to freshen up the look of my site (again). I am going after "newsletter" look. Do you think I am pushing it with the text on top?

I meant for it to be running text similar to some newsletter I have seen (SEO is secondary).

I like the look of the text at the top, but since it's just a bunch of keywords, it looks very spammy.

I likes the look too. I have seen it used effectively by several newsletters, advertisment, and even TV media. Give it a very "informational" feels. :-(

I like the look, but Jazzee is right, it's very spammy at the top. Why not put an actual paragraph of readable text up there or get rid of that section all together? You'd still preserve the look and feel of the page style.

It looked better with text. But the fact that it was just keywords and they were actual text, rather than being part of the image, makes it spammy.

Why not try an actual paragraph of text like sweatnspice said?
