Best tools to improve web dev/design productivity -- Please suggest
Hi,
I am here for your suggestions for best web dev/design tools you guys use ... Which editor would you recommend for PHP/HTML/CSS/JavaScript ??
Basically I am looking for an editor that will speed-up my coding and increase productivity.
Also what tools do you use for testing Cross-Browser compatibility ??
What other tools do you guys use to speed up your work ?
Thanks for you suggestions,
Amit

You cant go wrong with adobe. The suite is expensive but IMO it's the best. Just for coding another good program is aptana studio.

lol ! Maybe, but show me a product that's at least as terrible as any of the Microsoft's products 'cause no matter how much I tried to find one I just couldn't... Wait! I just remembered that I now use Notepad++ instead of Notepad because it's much, much better. These are the apps we're talking about?
Have you visited this page (http://www.microsoft.com/express/download/) ? And you couldn't find anything there to your liking? I currently have MS Visual Studio Team System installed but there were times when I had every product from that page installed on my pc. And I never was disappointed. Not once.
Right now I'm extensively using Dreamweaver, an old version actually, but I don't really care that much because it's doing its job. But, if I had the money to buy the php vs addin I'd forget about DW instantly
I've found out that the software we use doesn't make us smarter, but it could help us getting there So it doesn't actually really matters what software you use if you use it right. Remember that there still are developers that prefer Notepad for web development(I can't understand why, but hey...)

What Costin said.
If you don't know how to fix a problem, it doesn't matter what bells and whistles the software has.
What if you have to fix a problem on the fly without your software, like at a client's office or in front of the boss?

Asp is more efficient based on my opinion. I'd been using it recently and it has a built in database wherein you can retrieve easily your records/files. And as I noticed it is often used in a site that needs a membership options.
