Honestly, your site is not good. It looks very ameturish. Looks like something a child would make for their first site ever.

whytefire - To be in this business, you have to know what looks good and what doesn't. You seem to be lacking the ability to tell the difference between a website that is visually appealing and one that is not.

lol yeah seems to have
all my reservations aside though, if he really thinks he has the talent as a web designer then he should just start again and come up with something presentable to display his work, because i can't see many clients being impressed with that one.

ya know, thats the first thing i thought when i saw it.
Can't people learn Photoshop already?!
Another thing...what's with his pricing? £20 per page including graphics. You can't possibly be so general, it's just too risky! Proper designers know this.

what design? it's yellow text on some uglyass green background. It looks like it took all of about 5 min to create. No "designing" or thought involved.

The sad thing is he's teaching others.
(Obviously thats the other sad thing aside from my views a very genarilised stereotype I call "Cowboy Web Designers"!)

I have read everybody's critisism and my conclusion is that this forum is filled with a bunch of wanna be's. What gives you the right to critisise the way my website is structured and the scheme i have chosen?
|
A lot of the people on this forum are professional web designers. I can say with certainty that you are not a web designer. Your site is an embarrassment to yourself, a waste of disc space on some poor server, and a waste of bandwidth whenever somebody has the misfortune to visit it.
Its only useful purpose is to show the difference between professionally designed and hack-designed websites. I cannot imagine a client paying you even 50 cents to design a site.

i know
It seems the guy can't take criticism and everyone knows you only get better at something by adressing your faults. That's how i learnt, you talk to people and ask for an opinion and then you say 'yeah i guess you're right' and try to improve it, not just say, 'how dare you say such things' - like you said, most of us here are professional designers and so it's likely that we're going to have useful comments etc. if the guy is willing to accept the advice which he isn't.
I admit we've come on a bit strong, and if it was a site for anything other than advertising a web design company, i'd say 'fair play, nice try' but to think that this is the base of a web designer beggars belief.
Sometimes it's hard to avoid the truth, no matter how good your intentions.
