What the thread pertains is for SEO's free tools. If you're not aware regarding seo work, well you must don't have any idea what the thread is all about. This tool helps when you're routinely check your site's stats. If there is any development on your link build process or any changes on your rankings.

I like the idea, but I'm not sure what the badge looks like?

It might be handy if a preview of what the stats will look like, on the page your getting the code from.
