Please help me time this page ~
sorry to jump to a new post but i am really interested in nailing this down and thought it'd be best to just start a new thread for it specifically... im not trying to spam you with my site.
ive just optomized the images for this page only so nothing else. no need to wander, its a mess.
id love it if those of you who go, to time in seconds from when you click the link to when it loads and report back here ... also w/connection speed in plain english... dial-up, dsl, cable and isp and location.
thanks a bunch! should onlt take you a few minutes. (:

Firefox: 5 seconds - IE: 20 seconds - Cable - Comcast - Seattle
I don't think it's your site taking a long time to load. It's the server that your site is on.

okay i updated again.
this time i removed the gradient from the bg image (with the face) and now that ive got a solid in the bg ive also been able to get ride of some images (allowing the bg color to show through the cells) which kinda sucks because i did like the gradient but now im willing to do whatever it takes to get it to load, even a little bit faster.
funny though, i checked it in netscape (just upgraded to 1.7.2) and it loads almost instant. im wondering if ie has something to do with the loadtimes...
im still looking for load times on the above link as i do what i can do bring it down.

The page is normal sized, so its purely the server that is causing any slowdown, as Jazzee already said.
Some people will load faster than others based on their location, connection etc.

nobody else finds it strange that ie takes about 10 seconds longer (average for me anyways) to load than either ns or mozilla?

good point fusion.
for me though, i just assumed since its on my isp, it would load the fastest, though i do not know where the actual server hosting this page is... if anyone can wrap their head around that.... then its down to browser.
not exactly what i thought the problem would be.

25 Seconds - 1mb, UK - By that time I would have hit the back button.
IE does suck, but alot of people use it, its always best to test it out in IE, so you expect the worst

Use this tool for your site and connection speed. It's what I use, works great.

I think at this point, timing this page is pointless. I get a different time every time I go to the page. It's the server. Get it on some real hosting and the page should load normally.
