Question Problem Overwriting existing file

Hello there guys, just need some help regarding with my website. It was a big problem of me for a long time.

Every time that i overwrite my existing file like my "index.html" of my website it take a lot of time to update. What i mean is when I overwrite my index.html or other file like image, or file it take an hour to view the updated one. still showing the old file from my site and even I used different computer it's still the same.

Do you have any idea about this problem

My web host is webs.com using Filezilla client to upload my file..

Thank you!

Ideas:

1. Clear your browser cache then refresh the page.
2. Your ISP could be caching the Net. Try viewing the web page through a proxy server. e.g. Proxify

After editing your index file then saving, go to your browser and type in your website and go to your page. If the old page still appears, try refreshing the page. This method may load your new index file.

Good luck!

If the other PC is in the same house/office and networked to the same internet connection, then they are both using the same ISP cache.

Sounds to me like there might be some other caching implementing somewhere.

Is webs.com the free hosting company? In their support pages, they suggest that after making page edits you use their Site Manager, find the page you changed and click 'Publish'.

I'm not a user of theirs and this may not be the service you are using.

Sometimes I think it takes the servers a while to update the change in the index file. Just keep your page with the changes you've made. Anytime you go to your website just keep refreshing if the old still shows. It should update within a day or so. To where other visitors will see the updated version.

I would keep checking on your site, to make sure it starts to display your updated website regularly. All the best.

Have you set up IE to not cache web pages? Internet Explorer Web Browser History

Also, under the Advanced tab, down under Security, do you have it set to clean out the temporary internet files when the browser is closed?
