Well I never hear a hosting company taking this kind of issue like that: "my hosting company already told me i cant set up a redirect because it will ruin my website"

Perhaps you should think about switching hosting, because they lack technical knowledge.

First thing we need to know is: On what type of server your site is hosted (Linux, Windows, etc) or what type of control panel do you have, so we can help you.

I don't see how redirect 301 will ruin your site, that's the opposite and will avoid duplicated domain name.

Ok under Windows server they can do that on their side http://www.webconfs.com/how-to-redirect-a-webpage.php, or if they have the interface Plesk Windows (it is more commun these days), they can add a module Helicon which is an emulation of Apache http://www.helicontech.com/isapi_rewrite/ that can rewrite on .htaccess

The hosting must install the module on their server and create a file .htaccess on your FTP account which will allow you to write the code necessary for domain redirect 301, pages redirect 301, IP banning, etc

I don't know if they are able to run an ASP coded site on a linux server with the interface Plesk. But I know that you can run a PHP site on a server Windows with a Plesk interface.

It sounds a little bit complicated and I can understand the frustration to switch hosting if you decide to, but remember it is important to have a serious hosting with a top technical service.

I run my ecommerce for 5 years now and have changed hosting company 3 times. Now I am with the fourth and it is less less worries than before.

Does your site need a Windows server? Are you running any thing that requires a Windows server? e.g. ASP scripts
