Table Structures for Top SE Positions

Dear Experts!
It's not a secret that building a proper table structure ranks well on search engines as it's essentially a map to the spilders (tell me if I'm mistaken).
But here is a question: what kind of table structure is more beneficial to website ranking?
I know many different teble structures and the most commonly used are right-hand navigation and left -hand navigation tables.
Is any difference between them for spilders ? Whitc of them is more beneficial?

Thank you,
Hezer.

stuff at the top of the actual code is likely given slightly more weight. you can use css or other techniques to make the body copy appear above navigation if you want.

Personally i've not touched a table for layout in almost 2yrs...

my average html doc looks somthing like this:

Code:
<html> <head><title>Engines like good content/code ratio</title></head> <body> <div id="header"> header stuff here </div> <div id="content" content stuff here </div> <div id="leftnav"> left nav stuff here </div> </body> </html>
Much better to use the technology available IMO - it' aint 1997

I'm with awall on this one. It does not matter where your navbar is drawn on the screen of your visitors, but where it can be found in the source code.
using CSS is a good way to combine the benefits of a left-hand navbar and better SE relevancy.
