Website Layouts/Features to Decrease Bounce Rate

Does anyone have experience editing their website layout to specifically decrease the bounce rate? Did you notice a difference?

I'm in the process of editing my blog layout and am thinking of layouts that will help visitors click on other links on my page and stay a little longer.

Any thoughts?

Make sure you blend in your adds, don't make them stand out or people might think you have a spammy site.

Make the menu in the left hand corner, people read left to right.

Maybe make a menu in the navbar with the categories up there instead of pages. I have no clue why a lot of wordpress templates have pages in the menu navbar, those should be category links. That's just my opinion.

Add in some nice looking icons to your links.

Having a unique and overall smooth looking site will decrease your bounce rate also.
