I'm sure there are some out there. Here is how I calculate availability.

Availability = ((Time - Outage) / Time) * 100

Here are the important times. Everything else doesn't matter.

99.9% One Year 8 hours, 45 minutes, 35 seconds
99.8% One Year 17 hours, 31 minutes, 12 seconds
99.7% One Year 1 day, 2 hours, 16 minutes, 48 seconds
99.6% One Year 1 day, 11 hours, 2 minutes, 24 seconds
99.5% One Year 1 day, 19 hours, 48 minutes, 0 seconds
99.4% One Year 2 days, 4 hours, 33 minutes, 35 seconds
99.3% One Year 2 days, 13 hours, 19 minutes, 12 seconds
99.2% One Year 2 days, 22 hours, 4 minutes, 47 seconds
99.1% One Year 3 days, 6 hours, 50 minutes, 24 seconds
99.0% One Year 3 days, 15 hours, 36 minutes, 0 seconds

Uptime calculator

I searched "uptime calculator" and the first result was this:

http://easyuptimecalc.com/

Lets you calculate automatically what % uptime your site has - or you can give it a # of minutes of downtime and it will calculate that as a % uptime. I thought it was useful.

Hope this helps!

imaginemn is essentially correct. But I think there's an easier way. You don't need a 3rd party site. It's a simple formula:

Total time = 30 days per month * 24 hours per day * 60 minutes per hour = 43,200 minutes per month.

Take your uptime guarantee. In this example I'll use 99.99%:

(1 - .9999) * 43,200 = allowable minutes down per month.

So,

(.0001) * 43200 = 4.32 minutes.

Lightbulb I have EXACTLY what you need!

I just finished this EzUTC.com (Ez UpTime Calculator) project. You simply enter either uptime percentage and timeframe or downtime and timeframe — then click "Calculate." Regardless, uptime and downtime are both instantly presented in percentage and days, hours, minutes and seconds format. The results also include bar, column and pie chart output.

Ez UpTime Calculator:

Please let me know what you think...

Later!
