Need some info regarding miva merchant
i have a friend who currently uses miva merchant to run her online store. she had some inquiries regarding the cost-effectiveness of miva and if there is a better alternative to it. i know that oscommerce is free, but don't know if it would be worth it to switch over from miva. right now, i know that you would have to purchase separate packages or options through miva which can get expensive.

she is also looking at maybe redesigning their current site. how easy or difficult is it to design for miva?

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ...

What version of Miva are they using? Options vary depending on the Miva version. The new version is much better than older versions and requires less mods.

I haven't used Miva for a while, but some time ago I made the decision to abandon it in favour of agoracart.com. Not as powerful, but it does everything most shops will need. IMO Miva is over-priced and not particularly cost-effective.
