"Bleeding" image

Hello, me again with another dreamweaver question lol. I am slowly learning the program.

I was wondering...I designed the page except for the text in Fireworks (will insert the text in Dreamweaver), but when I insert the image into Dreamweaver it has the white background around it. How can I make the image bleed all the way to the edges so that I don't have my webpage sitting on top of a white background? Does that make sense. This is basically what it looks like, I can't figure out how to make the image fill the whole screen:

(Please note, this is a rough draft and looks crappy right now I know lol I am just starting on it and feeling my way out. Never designed anything like this before!)

If I understand correctly, just add this:

Code:
<body bgcolor="#FFFFFF" leftmargin="0" topmargin="0" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0">
just after this:
Code:
</head>

Hmmm...it took the image closer to the edge, but there is still a little white around the top and left side and a lot of white on the left and bottom side. ???? I don't get it!

Find your <table> tag:

Code:
<table width="blah..blah" height="blah..blah" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" bgcolor="#FFFFFF">

Yeah, there's no <table> because you're using css and divs.

I'm guessing it's a positioning problem. (
Code:
<div id="Layer3" style="position:absolute; left:444px; top:127px; width:482px; height:524px;
)

I can't really tell just from looking at it.

Hopefully someone else can help you here.

Ugh! This is so frustrating. I feel like I will never learn all this stuff. Thanks for trying though.

Try going through the HTML Tutorial at www.davesite.com . It's pretty basic, but it's really good for the basics... which is what you need at the moment. Hopefully that'll help.
