Shtml???

What's all the hype about shtml? I'm not sure exactly what it is? I am designing a new page for my site www.swordfishingcentral.com

Most of my scripts are php so I am going to to stick with php, but I'm cutting up the images and downsizing for faster page loads..

Adsense will be on the back of my mind

Mike

If all your scripts are php I doubt there's any advantage to shtml, but it would give you the ability to run other includes if needed.

Without going into too much detail, shtml is the html extension for Server Side Includes (SSI) for those who are not running asp, php, etc. You typically cannot do SSI with a .htm(l) extension unless you setup/change your server to use them for SSI. Shtml is NOT new it's been around forever.

Since you can do SSI in PHP I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks... I'm launching a total revamp of the site. The basics will be the same, but It will have a sense of an online magazine. I should have something beta up shortly.
