Reduce using flash will reduce the time to load the website. Web Design are also not so much heavy, which increase the time to load. Use simple design and layout of site.

TO reduce load time , you need to optimize your website. Do some changes in CSS file. reduce image size if you have in your page and try to optimize you source code.

Resize your images and videos. Don't use pictures, videos that are big enough for the site to accommodate. Don't use flash, unless it's necessary.

Most of the "tipps" here are... crap.

Look at this page from the Y!DN and you should know what is necessary:

Use less image, optimize your image, don't upload large image, use image slicing and css to help structure your site, avoid social media plugin.

Better load time

Has anyone mentioned site compression? I agree images and flash slow down sites but I also found that gzip compression helps alot aswell.

Reduce CSS? CSS is pretty minimal by default. I'd say what needs to come down are images, number of links, amount of coding in general though this is secondary to images. It isn't just the size of images, it's the number of them. The images should come from as few sources as possible, if you host your own site you should host all your images on the same server as well. That gives a web page less different domains that it has to pull information from.

Yes, less large images. And if you have loading music, remove it and see if it helps.

I'll have to disagree with you on this. You use the best image file format for the job. .jpg is for photos. .gif and .png are for graphics. .png can also be used for photos but you have to decide which gives better results and at what file size.

Using the correct type of web graphic which has been optimized for optimum download speed and web hosting space conservation will affect the performance of the website. Sites containing lots of images will be slow to load and require more web hosting space.

Try and improve the code; minimize the length of the code, this could be a fact. Also, you can reduce the size of the images probably use gif images.

Get some metrics on how long it takes to load your site and optimize from there.
