I am currently not a professional web designer but would like to dauble in the web design field. Recently, my employer asked me to create a estimate and project schedule for a possible website for his business. I am considered a contract employee so I am basically self-employed. I've search around for articles online about website-estimates and found a few but wanted to get some detailed advice (assuming you have the time) that I could use or possibly if someone has a MS word or Excell template they would be willing to share with me I would greatly appreciate it.
I am specially looking for what catagories I should consider or phases of building a site. Also, how much time it traditonally takes to build a site, and what the breakdown that it would take for each phase. I will be using a website editior (specially GoLive CS2) and know little coding right now, but will learn in the future... I know there is usually a debate about DW or GoLive but I have chosen GoLive because or its intergration with Photoshop and Illustrator.
