Affilate prgrams

i have a client that wants me to build him and ecommerce web site (i've never done one of these before) he said he wants to sell items like xoxide.com (good choice) so... how do i find an affilate with the items that he wants to sell? and if i understand it correctly he will need an ssl certificate which his hosting company www.prevo.net can provide. fill me in on anything you think i may be lacking since i've only done regular non profit web sites im new to this genre

Well amazon.com sells some of those items & they offer an affiliate program.

I am a bit confused those - does he want to sell itmes like the one you pointed out or does he want to be come an affiliate of sites that sell those items? If he becomes an affiliate - he does not need an SSL. He will point to those web sites & then it is up to those websites to have the SSL for purchasing.

If he wants to sell them on his site. But if he wants to be an affiliate to other stores, then no.

Plus if he has a merchant account a lot of gateways will offer SSL as well to cpature the CC data.

erm ssl is an encryption protocol secure socket layer and by default is 128 bit altho u can get 256 bit it uses port 443 usually. it was developed by netscape and submitted to the IETF as a standard. It provides encryption and authentication. Operating at the transport layer is provides a stateful connection between server and client. The largest issuer of digital certificates is Verisign @ www.verisign.com. You can obtain a digital certificate through this CA (certificate authority) thus aceiving maximum credibility. it can cost around $300 to $1500 for one. is that what u mean?

Well they are selling their own product it seems. I do not see where an affiliate comes in.

Sounds like what you are looking for is distributorship or drop shipping - not an affiliate type program.

Distributorship will allow the customers to stay on their site. When I went thru the other site - I stayed on their site.

Not too sure about seller. I saw Sell Items, not too sure if that is what you are speaking about? But you are not a vendor.

Check out:

See if that might help.
