A .tpl and how it works?

I'm trying out some software I'm considering purchasing (http://www.lightboxphoto.net/lightbo...4344/admin.php) and was wondering how a .tpl works. Can I design a template and save it as a .tpl?

On the menu page, if you scroll down about halfway, there's a category called, "templates." There, it lists the .tpl files. These are what I'm wondering about - how do I create them, are they just html code saved as a .tpl file?

.tpls files are easy to edit. Just paste those codes in frontpage, change them, save them and upload them . But you have to understand the code of tpl file first.

What TPL code man ?

.Tpl's are just normal text files, that are usually used by Smarty or other CMS's and website templating systems and engines.

They contain basic HTML, and sometimes PHP tags or similar shortcuts to PHP tags.

As you know what 's tpl is so you shouldn't aks. I meant varuable of the php code the software is using.
