How can I stop showing URLs at bottom of browser?

I would like to stop showing URLs at bottom of browser in following cases:

1. When someone moves with mouse to images on my site to click, I don't want to show at bottom of browser my 'affiliate' URL! How can I do that?

2. When visitors coming to my site, I also don't want to show URLs at bottom of browser when my site is downloading!

How can I do above mentioned? Which code do I need to add?

Many thanks!

i don't recommend this at all, whenever i am viewing a site i always like to know where a certain link is going to take me, not showing the visitor is basically being deceptive in my opinion.

I think it's kinda creepy and very un-ethical to hide affiliate links from your visitors.

If you serve adsense ads, you're already doing it.

Those are polluting the internet as well, imo, "spammed by goooogle' has no ethics either.

I liked the net and surfing a lot more when it wasn't a tool for spammers, as it is today.

Im with you on that one. Fidonet was much better imo, you had to know a little bit about what you were doing to even hear about it let alone use it.

It want long ago sites used to load fast with a 14.4k modem, 12 maybe 14 years.

I use status bar info all the time, hate it when you get pop-up window with no status bar - so set them to overide the javascript that opens them.

The fact that you want to hide it means you already know why I and many others like to see it. So just leave it on!

Why don't you get a redirection script? You make a little text database with an ID and the URL. Redirect all your URLs thu the script.

Your link will be to click.php?id=1

Makes updating your site a breeze since you only have to update the database to change urls.

Much better that the onmouseover method and you don't give PR to the affiliate programs and push them above you.

I don't like sites which doesn't shows the urls. If i click on a link i have to know where will i go. Generally illegal sites doing it.
Like noob said you can use a redirection script as well. But hiding urls will not make your visitors happy.
