'about us' content page

My 'about us' page is in serious need of updating. It is boring!

Anyway, just trying to get an idea of what I can include on this page to give my site a more personal feel to it. I like viewing about us pages on sites since, if done right, it gives you a feel for the people or person behind the computer screen. KWIM? What types of things do you generally like to see on a page like this? What would be enticing to my visitors?

Just brainstorming here and looking for ideas. I need something to create a totally different page here. thanks in advance!

I think a bit of humour helps alot, and also just a bit of background information about the people or just the organisation.

I agree with the comments above.....

I'd also suggest a complete overhaul on your site header and logo....

Is it ok you think, to joke around on a business site, such as my design site?

I think it is. I used to post cartoon monsters next to info about me in my about section. I thought it was funny anyway

My personal opinion on this is that you have to make a connection with people however you're comfortable - I happen to like humor. But you gotta consider your target market, too.

Sure is. You're human, and the customers are human. I noticed some humorous remarks on a web hosting site, and it impressed me. Makes me think they are not pretentious asses.

You know It's funny, I would have thought the about us page would be about, exactly, that, about us! Sure you can add a bit of humour if that's what your personality is like. I think trying to let your personality shine through so they can get a feel for you through the about us page.

exactly. I think that showing who you really are is a reflection of the confidence you have in your abilities.
