Very large website: don't know what to do with it
Hi everyone, I've got a very large website. 8900+ pages, and I can't get it into dreamweaver. It's too big and won't cache.
I've used dreamweaver for a long time and mostly hand coded HTML, so I don't know much about anything else (PHP, etc.)
I have no idea how to manage this web site. I wanted to use dreamweaver because of it's link update features. (That way I could break the site into subdomains.)
To make things worse... which ever program was used to make this site named all the folders with strange names like "Q5e3M," or something equally ridiculous. (Does anyone know a program like that? Is it Fusion?)
I've looked at CMSs but I don't really understand them. Besides, if I got one up and running I have no idea how to import the site into the CMS.
Ideally I wanted to develop, tweak, and fix this site on my local apache2 server, so that means I also have to set up a CMS locally (which I don't know how to do).
Does anyone have any suggestions?
