What is the best tool for web site design?
That is the question. I am talking about text editors. I am in the market for a new text editor with php, html, xhtml, and java highlighting. Also line numbering. But not much more I hate fancy text editor that have a bunch of other stuff. I like basic.

I highly recommend the FREEWARE title Crimson Editor. It was good enough to make me ditch TextPad. Check it out

Ilike TextPad too, but I've been using AceHTML simply because of the better colouring, and help files for html and some scripting languages.

Hey ATL, maybe you should change the title of this thread to "What is the best tool for text editing?". You can't really design web sites with a text editor.

Oh, I've seen full sites in nothing but HTML too, but I'm talking more like layout of a website.
All your doing in text editors is.... editing text (tags)!

LOL... yeah, the best web site design tool I have is my pad of paper and pencil. I like to sketch things out before I start creating images, coding, etc.

Thanks but I already know that due to having been to their website to download it, and having it as a folder in my Program Files directory.

Hehe, I actually drew out a layout once and I'm just going to scan it and slice it up. It looked cool.
I don't know about a simple one, I use notepad and 1st Page 2000, which 1st Page isn't really simple....
