Sea Change in Explorer Dominance?

Today, Web Builders Group put out an announcement that Chrome has almost equaled Explorer in market share. They are saying that Chrome has stolen so much market share from Explorer that Chrome, Explorer, and Firefox are practically neck in neck for market share. Their cited source is Gs.StatCounter.com. However, when I check my own StatCounter statistics for my business website (which is largely visited by home health agencies and physical therapy practices), StatCounter shows Explorer 57%, Chrome 12%, Firefox 10%, Safari 5.1%, Mobile Browsers 8%, and Rockmelt 3%. What web browsers are people using to access your websites?

Wow Chr, that's different. What kind of audience is that.

Hi Stephengfm,

I looked up a different website I manage for veterinarians in a rural town in Virginia. They get about 1,000 visitors per month. Their visitors use IE - 48%, Firefox - 18%, Chrome - 15.2%, Safari - 8.2%, Mobile - 8.2%.

Its almost impossible to predict what kind of browser the user may be using to see the website of a developer, but as much as I know, chrome and firefox are the two major browsers that people use maximum to surf the internet. As far as statistics are concerned, I don't find explorer anywhere used by the people any more.
