Responsive Web Design: Introduction & Impact

Here is something to take a look at.

Last week, there was little surprise when Google’s Pierre Far announced responsive design as company’s formal recommendation for mobile delivery. Responsive Web Design is the approach that a design should be flexible enough to adapt to the screen size and platform of the visiting user.

This (relative) uniformity in user experience would appear to be wonderful for search engines and developers alike.

Google was going to face a major conundrum: if every site had an entirely separate experience for mobile and desktop users, which site would actually be the one worthy of the incoming link? Would that rank pass to the mobile site and, if so, how much and why?

Responsive design is all the rage right now and I agree, websites should respond to their environment instead of having to recreate and develop separate entities for each device or system.

Responsive web design is a design technique that includes creating one edition of a website that performs regardless of what form of device you're using. One purpose to consider using responsive design is because it allows you to keep the same articles across all of your different devices.

Its obviously true the mobile technology is improving a lot day by day. There is no wonder if the mobile usability is more than the desktop in the near future. so the flexibility to adopt the technology is much need one. Its really a great idea for giving new face to web designs by responsive web design. Responsive design is an awesome solution to bridging the gap between Mobile devices and Desktops in terms of displaying website content.

Oh how I long for the good ole days .. when all we had to worry about was writing for 15" monitors ..

Really tho' .. Responsive Web Design could have come along a lot sooner than it did .. even so, I'm glad it's here and gaining ground.

As an added note: The PC and the Mac will never go away as long as there are guys like me around. Sure I have a mobile device or two .. but I can't use them in my business to actually build anything.
