Site needs a shopping cart upgrade, got any suggestions?

I am working on a site that needs a better shopping cart. The one it uses is old and lacks alot of features that carts now have. The cart needs to be able to be implemented on an existing site with existing database. Any suggestions?

I take it you have already looked into importing it into OSCommerce?

Yep, I looked at that one but we already have a database in place so it didn't look like an option.

Yes, I think OSCommerce and Xcart are among the most popular but there is also other software packages like Cubecart and Zen Cart (which I think is free).

If you are looking into spending some money, I suggest Storefront.net and Monster Commerce. Tons of options with both shopping carts

What do you know, monstercart website wont load. That makes me want their software.

I think storefront requires that you run the cart on their server. This was a problem when I was doing something similar because then you can't have the cart integrated to your site without changing servers

That would be a bad thing. RIght now we are looking at Xcart as a possible option.
