Bounce Rates for FLash

Does anyone have any numbers for the increased/decreased bounce rates of pages that have Flash components on them? I have Googled it but haven't found anything yet. Thanks.

I'm not sure if the statistics would be accurate though because sometimes one flash file runs the whole website, so in theory the actual HTML page doesn't change.

I don't know how they'd work out the actual bounce rate for flash stuff, but it would be a really interesting statistic.

In my mind I was more invisoning the websites that have the flash intro pages and if their bounce rates were higher than websites without them. I was in a hurry and didn't explain my question very well.

I don't have any statistics to back this up, but I would think Flash intro pages have a higher bounce rate. They typically take a longer time to load so I imagine people on dial-up get tired of waiting and leave quicker. Intro pages in general are pretty useless so I would guess they typically have higher bounce rates as well.

I've also noticed that while Flash pages can often look really nice they often seem to overlook the usability of the naviagtion. I've had to look very hard on Flash pages sometimes to find a link. Of course this isn't the fault of Flash, but the person who created that particular site.

Again no stats to back any of this up. Just my own opinion.

Add to that folks using screen readers (ie, the blind and people with super-bad eyesight) and folks who either haven't got Flash installed or who have disabled it: all these folks see nothing, so there's nothing for them to stick around for. They just take off.

The numbers pile up.

add the fact that 90% of flash intros have a lower quality then the site itself... that adds to a horrible first impression and people turn and run before getting to the real content.
