A question about member only web pages

First of all, I'm new with this thing and thanks for entering this thread.
This is my question:
How can I create a web site that require visitors to register as members before they can access other parts of the site or download stuff?

I really need help here.

Thanks in advance

Hi Magkii,

In order to have password-protected member-only areas on your site you have to be using some sort of web software that controls that sort of thing.

There are about 150 scripts listed under "User Authentication" on Hotscripts.com ... http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Script...ion/index.html

Personally, I use a custom package I built myself to handle the job, so I don't have too much hands-on experience with those options.

You can either use a login/password system for database/dynamic content much like this forum does, or password protect a folder/directory holding static premium content.

Hey magkii, what about php with if statements to query whether the user is logged in or not like lets just say(by the way this isnt php....this is just plain english).....

if { johnny is logged in display page....}

else { display....."srry, you must log in to access this area of the site}

if you know php you should have no problem....if you don't email me at
whizzkidweb@gmail.com and i'll see what I can do for you!
