Size Matters?

It seems like there is a divide building, in my head...
Size of images and video.

One part of me wants to have great images, but then I have to also consider the mobile user (tiny screen.)

You have 4K tv as the latest and greatest.
But, again, it's not going to translate to my site.
- and even less to the mobile version.

Long story, short... what are you guys doing to create the "happy medium?"

What exactly do you mean by this (my bolding)?

If your responsive code is proficient, you only need to include/upload one image - not multiple size versions of images. The code manages the image size depending on the device screen.

Thanks for the responses...

I guess I'm wonersing if it's worth it to get killer pics,
If "coding" is just going to reduce it, anyway?

You can load different images for different screen sizes.
