What's your best conversion tactic?

Some people say buy now buttons should be on the left, some on the right. Some people say more graphics, some say more words.

I want to know what your best conversion tactic is. What do you do to get people to commit to an action.

Hi there,

Graphics is a main factor...but to me, it is only a tool to draw people's attention to what you want them to read.

For example...a "Buy Now" button is only used to draw the user to read the text the button is referring to.

But my best tactic would have to be the very basic and simple technique of using varying text sizes/colours and fonts .

Seriously that is my best tactic....hope it helps.

I think graphics are important too...as long as they fit in the scheme of the site. So many times websites go out and grab a "buy now" button from another site and it sticks out.
