Speaking of Forums

Hi there.. I have a question and I hope you guys (and ladies) can help.

I have been asked to create a user register -- online community with forums, a chat room and an area for resources so an admin could post downloads, reports etc.

Any suggestions of software or hosting companies that are good for this type of project.

Someone said Godaddy is limiting so they discouraged me from using them.
I have heard mided reviews on the online community software xoops.org

Any and all feedback is totally apprecaited.

I heard it rains a lot in Oregon. One of my ex-neighbors was a logger out there. He was a monster of a guy, big burley SOB. He did time for robbing a bank there. Nice guy really .. kind of intense though. Course aren't we all eh? lol
