CSS with Safari vs. IE? Can anyone help -

I am building a site for an artist friend who uses Safari. The problem is that what she sees is not the same thing as what I am seeing in IE.

I've built it using css, which I've validated with the W3C Valadation Service, and on my side it looks good, 12 pt perpetua font and everything centered. What she tells me she sees sounds more like 12 - 14 pt font arial or verdana and it's causing certain things like the top menu to shift right.

I am fairly new to using CSS, so my question is, is there anything I can do about this, or do we just have to live with it being optimized for one or the other?

Mac platform?
Also, are you using percentages to size your fonts, or absolute measurements?

Be sure that all the type on your page is covered by some font formatting. I tend to even give html and body some indication of font size and face in my css, just to be sure.

Also, it's known that Safari and IE for Mac have some compatibility issues with CSS. Any chance you could share the site URL so we could diagnose by looking at the coding?

sure i'll gladly share the url, just wasn't sure if that was appropriate here. It's on a test site www.geocities.com/waxing40/style.css I just decreased the font size a bit to see if that would improve it, of course since I can't see what's happening (don't have Safari) I have wait to hear back from others who do.
