Which Color Best Suits a Website?
Last night i as creating a design for a kids website.
Now the problem i was facing was that which colour should i add to the Background.
Kids usually like bright colours but you know every color can be bright.
do you have any ideas which would be the most suitable colour.
It would be nice if you could add the colour code
like [#FFFFFF]

Hi sania,
Yes kids like bright color but I think its upto a designer that which color he/she picks for the children.
If not getting idea, try to see other kids related websites and see how they are using colors.
This is all I can help you

Why not use an image for the background instead?
The image would depend of the audience of course...
You wouldnt want play blocks for 15 year olds

I think you could make almost any background color work on a kids themed site... it really depends on the rest of the design.

Definitely bright colors. My kids are always trying to talk me into putting up bright gradients or black or red backgrounds. Blah, I hate it, but they like the really bright colors. It also depends on boys or girls and ages the preferences. My boys are always black, blue, and red and my girls of course want nothing but pink.

Vibrant colours are always best for kids as it keeps them interested. There is quite a difference between gender colour preferences, especially amongst kids, found this out while doing a research study on the subject.
This is a good site for colour schemes, all user submitted it can help you see what colours go together.

Anyway Sania, there is an awesome website for choosing colours which i recently stumbled upon.
http://www.colorblender.com
Helps you make a whole colour palette for your site from one colour.
Amazing resource, don't know why I hadn't found it earlier it's been around for years.

I have always been a fan for light blues when making kids sites.
Color scheme is most important thing with any type of design so take your time choosing it.

Exactly, only lazy americans would spell colour without a U. I am starting to spell it 'color' by force of habit these days Simply due to my brain working in css and xhtml lol.

Tis true, but I never let the evilness permeate my written grammatical skills.

Here's my advice, I fine that using YELLOW and any other bright/saturated color with it works GREAT! It's a very versatile color, so you can play around with different colors and see which one works out the best for you
