I need to replace 100's of links all at once

I have a website with 1000's of pages. Over time, many of the links have gone dead. I am looking for a tool that will find all the links (preferably just the dead ones) and replace them with a new link that I specify.
Can anyone recommend a program to do this?

Dreamweaver MX also has a check for broken links sitewide command (works if you have defined a "site")

Using Macromedia Dreamweaver you can do find and replace site wide. If you don't have it you can use simple text editors which provides find and replace option more than one file.

I use EditPad sometimes to do find and replace. I had the same problem as you had few months back. I am supposed to do find and replace on around 1200 web pages. I used Edit Pad and worked fine. There is an option to do find and replace an all opend files in Edit pad. just open 1000 files on Edit pad and do find and replace with the all files option checked. that's it. It is a simple text editor.

You could also note to yourself that when you create another website sometime that you use include's. If you use them properly you will only have to edit one file.

Another way is to use web spider, I think DW has this kind of feature. Find the broken links, then fix it, run the spider again, and repeat till you get 0 broken links.
