Sell Digital Product With PayPal (Simple Shopping Cart)

I have a customer who wants a single page sales letter to sell his digital product.

At the bottom of the page, I need to have a way for a customer to buy the product with PayPal. The customer then needs to receive a download link instantly by email.


What is the best way to do this? Is there a free "shopping cart" out there that can do this?

So with OSCommerce I can setup an HTML page with a picture at the bottom that says "Buy it now". Then I can link the picture to an oscommerce page where the user can fill out information to register an account and check out?


I don't want any distractions after the user leaves the HTML page.


So....Before I install OScommerce, can it do that?

I too sell digital products online. However I do not go through PayPal. I have heard the horror stories that PayPal can (and sometimes do) shut down the accounts of those who sell digital products because of no apparent reason. However I still use them as a payment processor for my ebay sales.

You can create a simple encrypted PayPal button to handle the sale part. The return value can be the page where the link for download is stored. This is subject to abuse if the buyer shares the link or posts it on a warez site. The mailed link is the the same.

A scripted solution that only provides an expiring link is a far better option.

I agree with you there scriptman. The problem though is this. It depends on what you are selling. You cannot have a scripted link that expires if you are running a membership site. So I guess the biggest question would be exactly what is being sold?
