Working As a Web Designer
Righto, im a 16 year old (turning 17 ater this year) and i have completed year 10 at school and im currently doing year 11 this year.
For the past year and a half i have been designing web pages and graphics as a hobby and now i have decided that i would like to persue a career in web design. My problem is that i am not to sure on requirements (In Australia, NSW) that are needed to be hired as a Web Designer/Developer.
I have searched the web and found that the Completion of Year 10 is generally what you need along with a certificate from a Web Design course in Tafe to become a Web Designer.
Anyway i have come here to ask about a few different things that i was not able to find in my searches and hopefully someone either works as a designer or someone knows the answers to these and can help me out.
So i am thinking of leaving school now instead of completing year 11 and 12, and instead enroll in a Tafe course for next year in a course of Web Design.
So my first question is:
1. In NSW, Australia, what Tafe Course would be the right one to choose?
After looking on the Tafe NSW website i found that a few courses are avaliable but each offer different certificates and it has become confusing.
2. Again is NSW, Australia, what exactly would be the content of the tafe course?
Would they teach Web design from scratch, or would a lot of knowledge be needed before enrolling? I have a lot of knowledge on it but i would still like to know what the course would hold.
Thankyou to anyone who can help me in finding the answers to my question.
