what...

this the first time I heard that an html page can be seen on one computer and not on another....
IMO, that's quite impossible...an html page is just an html page, nothing more, nothing less...

I'm so interested to find out the answer to your question...

Yeah stuff looks different with 2004 vs. DMWVR MX - when viewing in the layout/graphic view. I'd ask your tutors to upgrade,,,

Is there THAT big of difference between 8 and MX 2004?

I have CS3 and it's so damn buggy I went back to MX2004, and it's great... I hear 8 is like CS3 less buggy, but what all is better than MX ?

Check this out: http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/

I used to develop websites in MS Visual Studio 2005 but then MS had launched the Visual Studio Express Edition and I switched for it.

I'm still using it and I'm very vry happy with it I never used DW since then...

IMO, it's 10.000 times better than DW.

I use Visual Studio too, however it's so crappy in some ways. I usually switch between DW and VS during the production of each site. No program is perfect, but the two of them together and you're pretty much set.

I use this combination:
- VS Express,
- VS 2005,
- Frontpage 2003,
- DW (I use this program just to look at php files. DW is very good with that)

What I really liked at DW was the possibility to display the classes in the html code while typing. That was really helpful. And then MS to show up with that stupid product called "Expression Web" which was nothing more than a combination between Frontpage 90% and DW 10%... And it was sooo buggy....

I was so disappointed... I was expecting for something great but...

Yeah there is big difference if you're swapping html files between 2004 and MX. I had to upgrade at my office computer because my designer was using the Studio Version of MX and I was using the older, 2004 version.

The problem was, he would build pages using MX -> then I would download them from the server to do updates, but when I opened them up they looked all wacked. Something changed when they modified the 04 version to mx.
