Brain is a blank
Anyone else have the problem of your mind going blank when you are thinking about designing your own sites?
I have something that resembles writers block and I cant think at all. Anyone have any tips for making and designing sites? I am working on a totaly new idea for a site and so far I have the top banner..! Ive been working on it for seven hours..!

and do google image searches.
plus if your stuck use the time to scope out the competition and other related sites.
Have a sketch pad so when inpiration does eventually hit, you can make a note of it, doesn't matter if you aren't going to use it - next time you get brain ache flick through your notes and sketches to remind yourself of ideas you've had.

Yeah i have that problem, knowing how to use the programs well would help, and a few graphic design tips wouldn't go amiss either

lmao, no seriously, it sounds like a good technique to learn - not to follow, but to understand.

Its great, and more than "brainstoring". You can use the techniques of mindmapping to develop super human memory. But when you stuck with no-ideas; then start with one circle and draw as many ideas as possible and how they are linked!

i always jsut bring out some paper and start drawing random ideas, after a few pages they begin to take shape a bit and you can build on it. Once i start gettng close to something i might be happy with i open up PS and start doing the same in there, starting with where i left off on the paper. and it evolves some more from there
