Web site building 101 using Yahoo

I'm a Grandpa who decided to try to put together a family website using the yahoo tools. I thought I started off great just putting together a few pages with pictures and text. Then I decided I'd like to password protect the site and also give family members a password with the the ability to add their photos and other stuff. When I tried to do this I got lost. Yahoo talks about directories, subdirectories, subdomains, folders etc. I thought I knew a little about this but I am totally confused. Simple question. How does a family member add stuff and how does he or she or me give the rest of the family access to it.
This probably isn't a fair question but maybe just a pointer to some very general web building pointers would help

littlephoenix is web crap
seems like you need to use a CMS, i would use maybe blogger with a few addons from photo uploading to password protection etc. that is if you want to have other people post on your site.
Or is this not what your looking for? btw CMS is content management system

@ vinnies1:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you (as the owner of the site) need a yahoo account and a password in order to login to your site and manage it, right?

If so, then give to your family members your yahoo account name and password you're using to login and you're all set.

I don't think yahoo allows you to do what you want. (For exactly the thing you want you should use a CMS, as littlephoenix has already told you).

You could get web hosting and run any software you want... you can get webhosting for under $100/year that's reliable and be able to run a CMS like you want.
