Scripting email addresses

Another question from someone who rides on the back end of web design technologies!

Is it still worth hiding email addresses in script? It seems to me that email addresses and feedback forms get abused so frequently these days that I'm thinking that it may no longer be worth worrying about.

This should be your choice, and someone else's.
If you feel safe doing it, then you have no reason to stop doing it just because someone else might have a different opinion.

You're going to be spammed either way unless you use some advanced bot killing techniques. It'd be kind of interesting if someone threw up two contact pages, one with the email displayed and one with the email hidden and saw which one received more spam.

The only difference I could think of now is that the contact form that had the email address hidden wouldn't be automatically signed up for 500 porn newsletters

Thanks for the replies - it seems that you think it is still be best to hide the addresses and not to do so will guarantee more spam and quicker. I will continue to use javascript on my pages.
