need help making a slide show with dreamweaver

hi! i'm trying to make a very basic slide show using a timeline with dreamweaver and have had some problems:

1. it seems not to work with firefox, just IE. when i preview the page with firefox, i just see the first image. i assume this is because of my settings, although i can view other dynamic pages, so i'm not sure...

2. i can stop and start the timeline, but i haven't figured out how to add a behavior that will allow the user to move forward and back between pictures.

3. i would like to fade from one picture to another - don't know how to do this. i tried the fade/appear behavior but it didn't work in either firefox or IE, and i suspect that if it did it would fade each picture to the background color then fade in the next - i want one pic to fade directly into the next.

can i do these things with dreamweaver?? or do i need to download something else? any advice would be much appreciated. thanks!!

I am assuming since you are talking about using a timeline, that you are actually using Flash to create your slideshow? Flash is part of that suite of products if you got the whole suite. I haven't messed with the most recent version of Flash but I have used the timeline to take the "alpha" from 100% to 0% across 24 frames. You can do it across however many frames you want to get the smooth transition you want. Fade the current one from 100% to 1% and while doing that...on another layer you fade your next jpeg or picture from 1% to 100%. You can do 0% but the last version of Flash I worked with had a weird bug if you started at 0% or ended at 0%. As soon as the old one is at 1%, remove it from the timeline in the next frame. Just before you are ready to start fading the new picture up from 1% then you add it to a frame and use a tween to fade from 1% to 100%. This info could be outdated in the current version.

Good Luck and have fun.
