Mac VS Flash, the ultimate showdown!

I'm working on a site that I have already launched which is done almost entirely in flash. The only problem that I'm having with it so far is that when I have clients testing it, they are using Mac Safari and are having a problem clicking the buttons on the page. It seems that when they use the sliders that we created, however, the rest of the button presses work fine. All of our buttons are movieclips that are using an onRelease() function to read the button press.

I have also downloaded a windows version of Safari, and get none of this issues. This only seems to be affecting the Macintosh systems. Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this dilemma, or at least know what the cause of this strife would be?

btw, we are publishing the flash clips in Flash 8 and actionscript 2.0.

Hi,

I have Mac, Linux and Windows here with Firefox, Safari and Opera on all of them. Please post the URL or PM me so I can look at what the problem seems to be.

Without actually seeing the page and the problem it is difficult to give any advise.

However I have had problems with the Safari 3 beta, for example it doesn't work fully (for me at least) with the editor inside WordPress.

Also remember that Safari 3 is beta and you could use that as and reason to not support it now and check later when the full version comes out (which should be in October when OS X 10.5 comes out).

We actually found out what the problem was with the button presses.

What we were doing in actionscript is making the buttons a movieclip. From there we would use the onRelease() event as a click event for the buttons. Mac's don't seem to like this for some reason, so we had to change the event listener. We went with onPress() instead, and now everything works fine. IT works for both Windows and Mac now with no issues.
