Streaming FLV Issues... Need Help.

I have about a Gig worth of FLVs that have been exported from final cut directly. These videos are for an online presentation that I will host on my "basic" host...

The compnay this is for have a streaming media server that can host the FLV for streaming purposes. I know that they must have:

1) The FLV files
2) main.asc file

I got from them the URL of the Streaming media server.

I plug in all of the info into dreamweaver:

Video Type: Streaming (and have put the FLVPlayer_Streaming.swf file on my host where the rest of the pages are)
Server URI: rtmp:// address that they gave me
Stream Name: (name of the FLV that will be played back)
Skin: (and have put the Halo_Skin_3.swf file on my host where the rest of the pages are)

Also uploaded the "Scripts" directory to my host as well... I have the latest flash player plug in installed...

but when I test the page nothing comes up...? Are the FLVs from Final cut not right?

The help file says the following:

"NOTE: For the video player to function correctly, the FLV file must contain metadata. FLV files created with Flash Communication Server 1.5.2, FLV Exporter version 1.2, and Sorenson Squeeze 4.0 automatically contain metadata."

is this my problem? I would hate to have to re-export these videos - they took forever...

If you can offer any help - it would be greatly appreciated.

Look forward to any responses.

The FLVs do work locally... if I insert one into the page as a progressive download they play just fine...

As an update... I have injected the meta data into the FLVs and also had the host place that main.asc file on their server... but still no luck... the page just hangs there and no video shows up.

I am pretty confused. I thought this should be a pretty straight forward thing...

Any other thoughts.

Sorry jderosa3, I don't have any experience with the streaming media server. If the flv's work locally then my guess is your exports from Final Cut are okay.

Are you using absolute pointers to your flv's?

Here is a link to an Adobe Labs flv checker. This might help you identify any issues that might be present in your exported flv's.

Also, here is another link to a Flash Developer Center with some info you can cross reference.

If you're still stuck, I would suggest a visit to the Video section of Flashkit and see if someone (with more experience can help determine the problem)

Good luck!

littlephoenix is web crap
if you have basic server plan, this issue might be from that, your host might not let you stream flv or high file size movies, etc.
also how big are your flv files, sometimes it takes a while to load, also are you getting any errors, black screens etc. ?
