The Best Designer Is?

I set up a topic similar to this one back in 2001 and surprisingly enough David Carson got the majority of the votes, although in my opinion, he is more an artist than a designer, no doubt of course he is a legend, either way.

Just so it is clear, by 'Best Designer" I mean, the best web designer in general, for typeface designs, Web Designs, logo and graphic design in general, remember, the best one, not most popular.
I am not talking about companies, this is strictly about the Best individual Designer.

Let's see how many of you have a good (or bad?) taste in design, because they are sure to reflect on who you consider to be the best!

There are a few great designers out there, without sounding rude, David Airey is more a blogger than anything. His designs are not all that great, specially some of his logos. He is creative, and funny though.

I wont say my first obvious choice of who the best designer is

cause I'm sure people would consider me being Biased, so i'll say, one of them isAndy Clarke!

I don't think you can really say who is the best designer.
Their are a lot of designers at the same level of designing, personally I find that a lot of their designs are very similar and that puts me off them, what I like in a designer is one that can be inventive over different layouts.
So if their client uses loads and loads of tables they can make a really good website design using that.
