Talking Video Advice

Hi all,

I'm new to the forums here but it looks like a community I definitely want to be involved in! I've come seeking the answer to what is probably a very easy question. I'm going to embed a video on my site. It is just one video. Having never worked with videos online before, I'm wondering whether the video should be in Flash, AVI or MP3 (or something else?). I know YouTube converts everything to Flash, so I'm fine with that as long as it won't limit my visitors from viewing. The important thing is that the video has to have play/stop controls, etc. I do not want to simply upload to YouTube and embed their video -- it needs to be my own thing.

I would appreciate any advice!

I use SWISH VIDEO to convert videos to flash. You can add the controls from within - flash is def. the best in my opinion because nearly everyone has it.

Ya, I would vote towards Flash as well.

You can find flv players for sale all over the place, just google flv player and you're sure to find one thats suits you.

I have a player I built, it calls all the info from an external and highly configurable .xml file. If you endup buying one, make sure it gives you the option to add movies without actually changing or modifying the player itself.
