Building web site to be viewed offline
Not sure which forum this should be posted in.

I would like to create a website that can be viewed from a CD/DVD for mac/PC.

This seems like something that would be extremely simple to do (I've used DW to build live sites), but I can't find anything about it in any DW books.

Can anyone help me out with this, or maybe recommend a book or website that will show me how this can be done?

An offline full functioning website is possible via virtual linking.

i.e First of all you create a Folder for you Website data and make sure you save all you web pages in this Folder only and link you internal pages will the required linking from the Folder itself.

After completion of the Website, Burn the Data on to a CD or DVD, whichever you prefer.

Your full fledge Offline website is Ready To Visit !!!

one more question. Any idea how I can prepare the CD so that it auto opens? I'm trying to figure out a way to make it idiot-proof.

You can make an autorun.inf file for the cd.

Inside the file write something like:

[autorun]
open=yourwebpagename.html
