Making Forms Work

Ok so here is the situation, please pardon me if I am in the wrong place. But I have spent most of the day reading about how to make a form work in dreamweaver and I am completely confused. I don't even know if I am asking the question correctly but here goes.
I have created the form, got all the fields and text areas in place and the form holds the data. Now instead of being redirected to the users primary email account with the form data in the body of the email, I want to send the form directly to the recipient and redirect to a success page.
I have read about adding "hidden" fields and such and have downloaded "formmail" but I do not think I am on the right track. If anyone has some suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.
Cheers!

It seems that you are trying to create a contact form so that visitors can contact you by email which is a good thing to do, however there are many different ways you can go about doing this, and without having to learn all the tricks of the trade unless you have a lot of experience in this line of field.

If I were you I would look for a already made script that will allow you to make those changes and lay it out the way that you want, and give you the tools to work with, many hosting companies now offer form creator for your power tools, within your hosting account control panel, but then again if you don't know how to apply the code and add the fields properly then you are going to need to learn how.

I would first see what is out there for creating your contact form, there are many scripts out there, to use, I would give you some links but I don't want to cross the line here.

If you would like you can PM me and I can give you some details on how to do some of this, and where to go to learn more about creating contact forms for your websites.

good luck.

The recipient, this email address one of the input fields????

Do you have PHP on your server?

Thanks guys for the responses. I figured it out. For this particular job, I used the server form set up. I built the form using their software, cut and pasted the form data ( html and action string) into my <div> in dw. Once that was done, i went back into the server and set up the recipient mailbox and input fields for the form. Complete with forwarding address. If you want to see, pm me and i can send you the url.

I am still quite curious though about getting the forms that are built in dw to work. When I get more information, I will post then.
