How to empty cache automatically?
HI guys
need some help here
i have a static website ....meaning using only html
i have to regualrly update it and i am not using any scripting language yet
the problem is the website doesnt update normaly when i update it on the server. i have noticed like the pages we view on our PCs is stored in the cache memory and that is retreived next time we visit my site. so even when i update the contents on my site. when people or me check it out it stil shows the old pages... i am pretty sure its not a server problem.. its just that i need a script or a code or anything that i can include in all my pages that doesnt allow my website to be stored in the cache of peoples PCs. i know there is a way to do that but dont know how.
the new updated page shows up immediately when i press ctrl +F5 as that is the stroke to clear cache. as soon as i do that i immediately see the new updated page that i had just uploaded. or i have to wait as other pages builds up in my cache and the pages are deleted automatically from cache whn space is full. but people have different cache limits 50 mb 800 mb etc.
but these dont have with other websites. the other sites i visit update regularly and every hour i visit its new updated info. i never see old pages on other sites because of my cache. so why is it so with my site only???????
i am sure all of them use cache clearing code that doesnt allow their pages to be stored in cache and is retrieved from server everytime is it URLed. i need to do this to my pages ASAP as i dont want people pressing ctrl +F5 everytime they go to my page to see updated ones. its silly.
please help!!!!!
many thanks in advance!!!!
