Curved Corners on boxes & Table edges. how ????
Quick query
I keep seeing sites with curved corners on what look like table borders ?
like this
http://www.coolios.net/
How are they achieved? Is it a background graphic ??
Can anyone tell me ?
Thanks Tonya

it's rather simple.
their really images.
for instance, cut your table into 9 squares cells.
You'll have:
TL, TM, TR
ML, MM, MR
BL, BM, BR
Then in the four corners, (TL, TR, BL, and BR,) you place images or a curve. (you can use the same image, just rotate it).
You'll have curves, instead of square.
sorry if this was confusing.

You can leave the top parts fixed then set the middle of the bg images to 100% just type in there and it'll expand. You need to slice it right though.

sacrifice quality for bandwith time.
it's how the web works.

Decide according to requirements - in some cases you might need to display a photo without sacrificing on quality. In that case PNG is the best.
In all other cases use either JPEG or GIF. Use GIF format for pictures that use less than 256 colors. Use the JPEG format for pictures that use more than 256 colors.
Also, you do not have to worry too much about quality. Pictures can now be optimised and reduced in size without sacrificing much on quality.

actually (I have found) some images (large ones) with less than 256 colours still should be JPEG to get a smaller files size and quality need not be sacraficed if you find the right level of compression.
Most browsers display ordinarry PNG's and they are technically the best web raster image format around, there's even a couple of good work-arounds to make IE do the alpha transparency properly!

Yeah Lazyjim, I too have found that some 256 color are best compressed with JPEG ... But that statement about PNG sometimes producing smaller sizes - never with me; PNG files always seem to have abigger files size ...

always depends on the image, I've got better quality per memory space from all three formats in different situations many times.

be careful to use antialiasing if you want to have smooth corners like they have on that link.
