online live video chat community
I want to build a website with a online live video chat community. Much like http://www.stickam.com. I got a linux virtual dedicated server for the purpose. Anybody have any idea how it could be build or if somebody could give me some guidelines it would be very nice.

I looked in to doing this a long time ago and asked my server people what I needed as far as they were concern and their answer was "about $1000 up front to handle the cost of the bandwidth you will be using for the dedicated live feed." (much like what you need to run shoutcast. A program for podcasting live)
I stopped the project when they said that.

If money isn't a problem, my advice would be to hire a competent programmer and you can focus on marketing.

First thing you need is a live feed. Ask your server company about it. Then find scripts on importing and exporting live video feeds with audio.

3ncryptabl3_lick is right. Your going to need a programmer to help you with this. I really doubt there are free scripts out there.

A basic live feed (from what I remember) can handle 30 viewers per 1 video broadcast.
