Faulty online status

I maintain a site using joomla. The default "Who's online" module that comes with joomla displays a different statistics while the extra extension from JoomlaWatch shows some other statistics. Why is it so? How can I get a correct realtime user statistics?

FireStats (yes the Wordpress plugin) has a Joomla option.

I've never tried it, or even know if its J1.5 compatible, but I love it on my Wordpress blog. Up to the minute real time stats.

EDIT: Now you've got me curious. I might try it and see if it will work on the site I'm currently working on.

2ND EDIT: I just checked and it's reported that FireStats will NOT work on J1.5. However, it looks like there are plans for it.
