Forum did well, now not doing as well - why?

Hey guys - my forum was doing really well for about six weeks. We started it 9 months ago, it took three months before it took off, then it took off, did better and better with about 2-3 new members every day - now we're getting less than one new member a day average and very few posts... why would this happen? !!

This is for support in the V7N Forums... Not, 'any' forum.

Could go in the SEO Forum as it's SEO related due to optimization that could be holding you back from getting people in your forum. Also it could be related to the Forum Lobby (Computers & Internet) for general support

There are so many factors:
Subject of forum?
Is there a member section or is everything open to the public?
How much new content are you supplying?
Age demographics?
Are you whoring the site out? (advertising it hard)
You were getting people, were they posting or lurking?
Do you have posting whores on your site? (like me who post a lot)
Do you have moderators who are jerks? (do more punishment than help)
Do you supply "hard to find subjects" that would make people come to you of information?
Do you supply the latest breaking news stories?
Are the search engines showing your threads?
Is your title telling people what you are about? ("site" | where we enjoy cookies)
